Responsibility to Protect (Panel 4 of 4)
The Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies at Concordia University plays host to the conference The Promise of Media in Halting Mass Atrocities: A Conference to Mark the 10th Anniversary of the Responsibility to Protect, on October 21, 2011. In the last of four sessions, speakers Jonathan Hutson (the director of communications for The Enough Project) and Gordon Smith (the director of the Centre for Global Studies at the University of Victoria) discuss the responsibility to report in relation to the current political and social climate in Syria, Sudan, and Libya. This panel is moderated by Kyle Matthews (a senior deputy director for the Will to Intervene Project at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies).
