Women in Politics

On December 2, 2011, a Women of Influence luncheon was held in Toronto. "Advancement Summit: Women in Politics" was moderated by Isabel Bassett, who served in the Ontario Legislature as MPP for St. Andrew-St. Patrick from 1995 to 1999.

The panellists were Sheila Copps (Former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada), Peggy Nash (NDP MP for Parkdale--High Park, Ont.), Jennifer Lawless (Director, Women & Politics Institute, School of Public Affairs at American University) and Barbara McDougall (Former Progressive Conservative MP and cabinet minister). Former prime minister Kim Campbell also addressed the audience via video from Paris.
