On March 15-16, 2012 ,the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada hosted its annual conference: "Crime & the Law: the Future of Justice in Canada."

In the second plenary session, David Eby (executive director of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association), Alex Hundert (activist), and Judy Rebick (author and Eakin Fellow, McGill Institute for the Study of Canada) discussed the official response to events like the Occupy movement and the G20 in Toronto.
