On March 15-16, 2012, the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada hosted its annual conference: "Crime & the Law: the Future of Justice in Canada."

In the fourth plenary session, Michael Jackson (aboriginal rights activist), Howard Sapers (Correctional Investigator of Canada), and Steve Sullivan (executive director, Ottawa Victim Services) discussed the key issues facing Canada's correction systems.
