On April 12-14 in Montreal, a conference titled "After the Patriation: Taking Stock" marked the 30th anniversary of the patriation of the Canadian Constitution. The second session on April 13, "Lessons Learned from the Failures of Meech and Charlottetown," featured Roger Tassé (Deputy Minister of Justice, 1977-1985), Jean-François Lisée, (former advisor to Quebec premiers Jacques Parizeau and Lucien Bouchard), and Jeremy Webber (University of Victoria).
