The first panel of the day features perspectives on the past decade of international and Afghan government efforts, March 14, 2013. Among the speakers are Barna Karimi (Ambassador of Afghanistan to Canada), Mohammad Atmar (Founder of the Right and Justice Party, Afghanistan), Murray Brewster (Journalist and author of "The Savage War: The Untold Battles of Afghanistan"), Chris Eaton (World University Services Canada), Stephen Cornish (Doctors Without Borders) and Pierre Beaudet (School of International Development & Global Studies, University of Ottawa).

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa hosts a one day symposium entitled "Afghanistan’s Path to 2014 and Beyond: The Transformational Decade."
