Among the speakers are Barna Karimi (Ambassador of Afghanistan to Canada), Mohammad Atmar (Founder of the Right and Justice Party, Afghanistan), Murray Brewster (Journalist and author of "The Savage War: The Untold Battles of Afghanistan"), Chris Eaton (World University Services Canada), Stephen Cornish (Doctors Without Borders) and Pierre Beaudet (School of International Development & Global Studies, University of Ottawa).

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa hosts a one day symposium entitled "Afghanistan’s Path to 2014 and Beyond: The Transformational Decade."
