On March 15–16. 2013, in Shawinigan, Jean Chrétien, together with a number of senior officials and scholars, hold a symposium to mark the 10th anniversary of Canada's decision not to join the coalition invading Iraq.

The final panel of the first day, "Canada, Multilateral Institutions and Relations with Allies," featured Jocelyn Coulon (director, Centre d’études des relations internationales de l’Université de Montréal), Raymond Saint-Pierre (journalist, CBC-Radio-Canada), David Haglund (professor, Queen’s University) and Paul Heinbecker (permanent representative of Canada to the UN, 2000–2003).
