Electoral Reform Conference - The New Senate
On November 3, a conference on Electoral Reform is held at the University of Ottawa. Throughout the day panels will explore issues such as the mood among Canadians for reform, the need for a referendum, aspects of parliamentary reform, the new Senate, as well as timelines and deadlines for electoral reform. The fifth session, "The New Senate", features Huguette Labelle (Chair, Advisory Board to the Prime Minister on Appointments to the Senate), Frances Lankin, (recently appointed Independent Senator from Ontario), Adam Dodek (Professor of Common Law, University of Ottawa) and Susan Delacourt (columnist, iPolitics).
