CEMAD 2019 – Protecting French-Language Cultural Sovereignty
Professionals from the culture, media and technology fields gather in Montreal for a special conference on the future of French-language broadcasting, distribution, content creation and production in the digital era (CEMAD). Three universities (University of Montreal, UQAM’s Media School, and HEC Montréal’s media division) host a discussion on issues linked to new Canadian broadcasting legislation and the emergence of digital media. CPAC's Esther Bégin serves as host for the conference. This panel focuses on the following : How will French-language cultural sovereignty be protected against Web giants? Sylvain Lafrance, from HEC Montréal, moderates a panel featuring Véronique Guèvremont (UNESCO Chair), Anna Herold (European Commission) and Éric Scherer (France Télévisions et Méta-Media).
