Proceedings of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Accounts, February 26, 2004. Committee members continue their consideration of the Auditor General of Canada’s report on government sponsorship activities, advertising, and management of public opinion research.

The committee hears testimony from Jim Judd of the Treasury Board Secretariat and from David Marshall of the Department of Public Works and Government Services. The witnesses face questions from Marlene Jennings (Liberal), Shawn Murphy (Liberal), Walt Lastewka (parliamentary secretary to the minister of Public Works and Government Services), Judy Wasylycia-Leis (NDP), Peter MacKay (Conservative), and Joe Jordan (parliamentary secretary to the president of the Treasury Board.

Magali Fournier (counsel for Alfonso Gagliano, the former minister of Public Works) appears before the committee, asking to delay Mr. Gagliano’s testimony. The committee then proceeds to discuss a possible leak of documents to the press.
