Public Record - 2004 Forum on Agriculture (Part 3 of 5)


The 2004 Forum on Agriculture is held in Yorkton, Sask., January 8, 2004. Gerry Ritz (the agriculture critic for the Conservative Party) and Brad Wildeman (the chair of the foreign trade committee of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association) present speeches on the present and future of agriculture in Canada. Mr. Wildeman discusses the effects of the BSE (“mad cow”) crisis on the beef industry, while Mr. Ritz touches on the disconnect that exists between consumers and farmers. Following their presentations, Mr. Wildeman and Mr. Ritz participate in a question-and-answer session with audience members.
