Proceedings of the annual North-South Institute (NSI) Conference on Global Development, Ottawa, Ont., June 23, 1994. The 1994 conference is held in honour of development economist Gerald Helleiner and also marks the 50th anniversary of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This conference session features a panel discussion on various aspects of global development. The panellists include Francis Stewart (University of Oxford), Patricio Meller (Latin American Economic Research Center (CIEPLAN)), Hans Singer (University of Sussex), Michael Shenstone (a Canadian diplomat), Alfred Maizels (University of Oxford), Nasir Islam (University of Ottawa), Diane Elson (University of Manchester), Göran Ohlin (Uppsala University), and Tony Killick (Overseas Development Institute, London, U.K.).
