The Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs hosts its 73rd annual conference in Orillia, Ont., August 5–8, 2004. This year’s conference is entitled “God’s Back with a Vengeance.”

In this August 6th session, entitled “Why Now?,” Peter Beyer (a professor at the University of Ottawa) explores the causes of a resurgence of religion in public life, while Katherine Marshall (director and counsellor to the president of the World Bank) analyzes the relationship between poverty and terrorism.
