Ethics in the 21st Century – September 25, 2000 (Part 1 of 3)

The International Institute for Public Ethics hosts its inaugural conference entitled “Ethics in the New Millennium: Bridging the Private and Public Sectors,” Ottawa, Ont., September 24–28, 2000.

In this September 25th session, participants discuss a North American perspective on the key ethical challenges of the 21st century and suggest practices for developing and implementing ethics programs in government and in corporations.

Ranald Quail (deputy minister of Public Works and Government Services) offers opening remarks and introduces the day’s speakers. Panellists include Everardo Elizondo (the deputy governor of the Bank of Mexico), Ed Petry (the executive director of the Ethics Officers Association), and Arthur Kroeger (the chancellor of Carleton University).
