Proceedings of a Summit Institute conference on managing relations between Canada and the United States held in Ottawa, Ont., December 4, 2003.

Conference chairs Herb E. Gray (chair of the Canadian Section of the International Joint Commission of Canada and the United States) and Thomas d’Aquino (the president and chief executive of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives) describe the conference’s objectives and format. Pauline M. Cusack (president of the Summit Institute) introduces Mr. Gray and Mr. d’Aquino.

Paul Cellucci (U.S. ambassador to Canada) discusses the importance of co-operation of law enforcement personnel between Canada and the U.S. and the need for reliable energy, infrastructure, and environmental protection.
