Citizenship and Immigration Canada hosts an event entitled “Forum on Biometrics: Implications and Applications for Citizenship and Immigration,” Ottawa, Ont., October 8, 2003.

In a session entitled “Applications and Implications in the International Context,” speakers W. Russell Neuman (White House Office of Science and Technology) and Gerry Van Kessel (U.K. Immigration Service) discuss biometrics research, privacy and data protection guidelines, intergovernmental consultation, and refugee policy. The panel is introduced by Daniel Normandeau (Intersol Consulting Associates Ltd.).

Following this session, Frank Graves (EKOS Research Inc.), and Stephanie Perrin (Digital Discretion Company Inc.) shared their views on biometrics and respond to questions from audience members.
