Citizenship and Immigration Canada hosts an event entitled “Forum on Biometrics: Implications and Applications for Citizenship and Immigration,” Ottawa, Ont., on October 8, 2003.
In the final session of the forum, audience members participate in an interactive question-and-answer session by means of electronic voting. Topics of discussion include the creation of a national identification card, privacy safeguards, and the role of technology. The debate is moderated by Daniel Normandeau (Intersol Consulting Associates Ltd.).
The forum then comes to a close with Denis Coderre, the minister of citizenship and immigration, giving the final remarks.
