Public Record - 2004 Canadian Medical Association Annual Meeting (Part 3 of 7)

The Canadian Medical Association holds its annual forum on Canadian health-care in Toronto, Ont., August 15–18, 2004.

In this August 17th session, Dr. Dana Hanson (chair of the Policy Working Group on Physician Workforce) discusses a draft report by his organization. The report focuses on the change in culture of medicine, the exclusion of physicians from policy-making decisions, the single-minded focus of government, and the failure to acknowledge physician shortages. Following this, Dr. Alecs Chochinov (a member of the Policy Working Group on Physician Workforce) briefly describes the objectives and recommendations of the report.

A debate follows in which delegates of the CMA draft various motions and amend policies.
