Question Period - September 26, 2012

Debate opens with an exchange between Opposition leader Thomas Mulcair and Prime Minister Stephen Harper concerning corporate tax cuts. Diane Finley (Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development) faces an onslaught of questions about the cancellation of a pilot project to extend Employment Insurance benefits.

Opposition MPs also inquire about M-312, a private member’s motion by Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth to revisit the definition of human life. Some MPs fear that the motion, if passed, could lead to the re-criminalization of abortion.
