Public Safety Minister Vic Toews faces questions on proposed changes to the federal correctional system in light of the 2007 suicide of prison inmate Ashley Smith. Opposition MPs continue their calls for electoral reforms following the release of federal court documents alleging voter suppression calls during the 2011 federal election campaign. In anticipation of Remembrance Day, MPs also raise a number of issues related to veterans’ affairs, including assistance for soldiers’ funerals and the creation of Memorial Ribbon to honour fallen soldiers.
