The government is also asked about a Chinese takeover bid for the Canadian oil company Nexen. Niki Ashton (the Opposition critic for the status of women) inquires about the state of gender equality in Canada in light of the 23rd anniversary of the December 6, 1989, Montreal massacre, in which fourteen women were killed at École Polytechnique.
