Ted Menzies (parliamentary secretary to the minister of finance) faces a barrage of inquiries about the government’s economic strategy in response to the global economic downturn. Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon is asked about the government’s refusal to seek Omar Khadr’s release from the Guantanamo Bay detention centre. Mr. Khadr, a Canadian citizen, has been incarcerated since 2002 on suspicion of terrorist involvement.
