February 7, 2013

Question Period opens with an exchange between NDP deputy leader Megan Leslie and Prime Minister Stephen Harper concerning alleged “robocall” voter suppression techniques employed during the 2011 federal election campaign. Mr. Harper also faces a number of questions about free trade discussions between Canada and the European Union.

Diane Finley (Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development) fields inquiries about changes to Employment Insurance eligibility criteria. There are also questions on the government’s environmental record, the controversy surrounding Senate expenses claims, and merchant fees for credit card transactions.
