Prime Minister Jean Chrétien faces questions from Lucien Bouchard (the leader of the Official Opposition) concerning the planned withdrawal of Canadian peacekeepers from Croatia and Bosnia. David M. Collenette (Minister of National Defence) is asked about the distribution of defence spending across Canada and the representation of francophones among senior officers. Ahead of the federal budget presentation, Mr. Chrétien and Art Eggleton (President of the Treasury Board) are asked about provisions related to the pensions of members of Parliament.
