Lucienne Robillard (Minister of Labour) responds to renewed questions about the role of the federal government in the campaign ahead of the October 30, 1995, Quebec referendum on sovereignty; Ms. Robillard defends remarks by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien urging Quebecers to think carefully before they vote in the referendum. Later, Paul Martin (Minister of Finance) responds to allegations of federal spending encroaching on provincial jurisdictions; Diane Marleau (Minister of National Health and Welfare) is asked about the provinces’ jurisdiction over health care; and Lloyd Axworthy (Minister of Employment and Immigration) discusses employment training programs.
