After the government set aside its campaign promise of changing the electoral system, Opposition parties cast doubt on the government’s word on another topic: not taxing any employer-paid health and dental plans.

The following MPS debate this issue: Ginette Petitpas Taylor (Liberal Party), Gérard Deltell (Conservative Party), Guy Caron (NDP), and Gabriel Ste-Marie (Bloc Québécois).

Pierre Donais welcomes Jean-Pierre Kingsley, former Chief Electoral Officer. Mr. Kingsley does not hide his disappointment regarding the government’s decision not to follow through with its campaign promise to replace the first-past-the-post electoral system in 2019.

The following reporters discuss the week’s political events: Althia Raj (Huffington Post), Joël-Denis Bellavance (La Presse), and Denis Ferland (Le Devoir).
