Ridings to Watch
Charlottetown and Egmont
CPAC’s Bill Kendrick reports on the campaign in two Prince Edward Island ridings, Egmont and Charlottetown. Housing and climate change are two big issues here but what everyone is watching is how well will the Greens do. In last April’s provincial election the Greens won 8 seats making them the Official Opposition, the first time the party reached official opposition status in any Canadian legislature. Running for the Greens in Charlottetown is Darcie Lanthier, an energy systems technologist, where she will be up against the incumbent Liberal Sean Casey and Conservative Robert Campbell, a 28-year veteran of the RCMP. In Egmont the Green candidate is Alex Clark, a brewery owner and restaurant owner. The incumbent Liberal is Bobby Morrissey and the Conservative is Logan McLellan, a financial advisor, best known for giving away money to strangers at Christmas.
