Defence Minister Peter MacKay, NDP Shipbuilding critic Peter Stoffer, NDP MP Denis Blanchette, Liberal Leader Bob Rae, and Bloc Québécois MP André Bellavance reacted to the decision regarding contracts to build ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Contracts were awarded to Nova Scotia's Irving Shipbuilding and Seaspan Marine of British Columbia, while Quebec's Davie Shipyard did not receive a contract.
