National Defence Minister Peter MacKay announced a celebration honouring Canadian troops who served in Libya, which will be held November 24 on Parliament Hill. In particular, the ceremony will honour the mission’s leader, Lieutenant General Charles Bouchard.

NDP Treasury Board critic Alexandre Boulerice commented on the cost of the ceremony. Liberal MP Denis Coderre also spoke to reporters about the celebration.

Interim NDP leader Nycole Turmel and Liberal Leader Bob Rae commented on the RCMP’s new commissioner Bob Paulson, as well as the investigation into sexual harassment allegations at the force.

NDP deputy justice critic Françoise Boivin, Bob Rae and Liberal justice critic Irwin Cotler responded to questions about amendments to the crime bill.

Environment Minister Peter Kent spoke to reporters about a new proposal to limit emissions from passenger car and light trucks for model years 2017-2025.
