Ted Menzies, the minister of state for finance, spoke to reporters about the federal government's legislation to create the Pooled Registered Pension Plan. The PRPP is geared towards the self-employed and to those working in small businesses.

NDP pensions critic Wayne Marston and Liberal Finance critic Scott Brison reacted to the proposed retirement option.

Maxime Bernier, the minister of state for small business and tourism, responded to questions about the long-gun registry bill and defended the government's plan to destroy all data in the registry.

NDP deputy Justice critic Françoise Boivin and Liberal leader Bob Rae also spoke to reporters about the bill to eliminate the long-gun registry.
