NDP finance critic Peter Julian, NDP Treasury Board critic Alexandre Boulerice and Liberal Treasury Board critic John McCallum reacted to the fall report from interim Auditor General John Wiersema. The audit includes chapters on the Conservative government's Economic Action Plan and on services provided by Health Canada.

Federal justice minister Rob Nicholson commented on his meeting with his Quebec counterpart Jean-Marc Fournier regarding amendments to the omnibus crime bill.

NDP deputy justice critic Françoise Boivin, Liberal MP Denis Coderre and Bloc Québécois MP Louis Plamondon spoke to reporters about the meeting between ministers Nicholson and Fournier.

Justice Minister Rob Nicholson and New Democrat MP Olivia Chow responded to questions about the government's reintroduction of a citizen's arrest bill, which would make it easier for victims of crime to perform citizen's arrests. Chow had introduced a private member's bill on the issue in 2010.
