NDP finance critic Peter Julian and Liberal House leader Marc Garneau spoke to reporters about the housing crisis in Attawapiskat. The First Nation community in northern Ontario declared a state of emergency last month.

Treasury Board President Tony Clement and NDP treasury board critic Alexandre Boulerice reacted to the ruling made today by the Speaker of the House of Commons regarding Clement’s committee testimony on G8 spending. Andrew Scheer ruled that the minister did not alter the official record of his committee appearance, and that it was Hansard staff who had made the changes in order to clean up the text of his testimony.

NDP environment critic Megan Leslie and Liberal House leader Marc Garneau responded to questions about Canada’s commitment to the Kyoto Protocol.

NDP justice critic Jack Harris discussed the Conservative government’s omnibus crime bill, which is being debated in the House of Commons. Bill C-10 is now at the report stage.
