Liberal MP Wayne Easter, Liberal deputy whip Massimo Pacetti, NDP Treasury Board critic Alexandre Boulerice, and NDP military procurement critic Christine Moore discussed the renewed controversy surrounding Defence Minister Peter MacKay’s use of a military helicopter. The minister had used a search and rescue helicopter in July 2010 to leave fishing lodge in Newfoundland and Labrador. MacKay maintains that his vacation was cut short to take part in a search and rescue exercise with the military. But newly-released emails from the Department of National Defence contradict the official version of the minister’s explanation.
