Interim NDP leader Nycole Turmel, interim Liberal leader Bob Rae and Bloc Québécois status of women critic Maria Mourani commented on the efforts of Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth to update Canada's 400-year-old definition of a human being. Turmel and Rae also discussed the upcoming by-election that will be held on March 19 in Jack Layton's old riding.

NDP defence critic David Christopherson spoke to reporters about allegations of inadequate construction on DND buildings and overbilling by contractors. The Union of National Defence Employees, which represents about 20,000 employees across Canada, plans to release a report tomorrow to the House of Commons Defence committee. The union wants the matter referred to the auditor general for investigation.
