Parliamentary secretary to the minister of foreign affairs Deepak Obhrai responded to questions about China's human rights record, the ties between Montreal engineering company SNC-Lavalin and the Gadhafi regime, and human rights in Sri Lanka.

NDP critics Mathieu Ravignat (public works and government services) and Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe (seniors) reacted to the confirmation by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty that changes to Old Age Security are likely to come in 2020, 2025.

NPD environment critic Megan Leslie and Liberal finance critic Scott Brison commented on the fact that the Conservative government considers extremist environmental groups to be a possible domestic terror threat. The two critics also discussed OAS changes.

New Democrat MP Don Davies spoke to reporters about about Russia's possible connection with the spy case involving a Canadian intelligence officer. Sub-Lieutenant Jeffrey Delisle has been charged with passing secrets to a foreign entity.
