NDP finance critic Peter Julian discussed his concerns over the government's plan to purchase 65 new F-35 fighter jets. The United States has confirmed that it will delay production of the jets, and Canada has called for a meeting with the seven other international partners in the F-35 project.

Former Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe was on Parliament Hill today to respond to allegations that he misused parliamentary funds while he was leader. Duceppe appeared before a closed-door meeting of the Board of Internal Economy, the governing body for the House of Commons. Duceppe spoke to reporters about the allegations.

Bloc Québécois parliamentary affairs critic André Bellavance and interim Liberal leader Bob Rae also commented on the Duceppe allegations. Rae spoke as well about the F-35 deal.

NDP deputy justice critic Françoise Boivin responded to questions about the government's omnibus crime bill (C-10) and the bill to end the long-gun registry (C-19).

Senators are currently reviewing Bill C-10 at committee, while Bill C-19 is at the final debate stage in the House of Commons and is scheduled for a final vote this Wednesday.
