Scrums - March 8, 2012

Labour Minister Lisa Raitt confirmed to reporters that she had referred the two labour disputes at Air Canada to the Canada Industrial Relations Board. The disputes involve the airline's pilots’ and machinists’ unions.

Labour critics Yvon Godin (NDP) and André Bellavance (Bloc Québécois) reacted to minister Raitt's decision.

Interim Liberal leader Bob Rae and NDP Treasury Board critic Alexandre Boulerice responded to questions about the NDP's motion to give more powers to Elections Canada and about new allegations involving voter irregularities in former Liberal MP Joe Volpe's riding.
