Labour Minister Lisa Raitt and Transport Minister Denis Lebel spoke to reporters about the federal government's back-to-work legislation to end the Canadian Pacific Railway labour dispute. NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair, interim Liberal Leader Bob Rae, NDP Labour critic Alexandre Boulerice, and Bloc Québécois MP Jean-François Fortin reacted to the back-to-work legislation. Mulcair also discussed his visit this week to visit Alberta's oilsands region. Rae commented on Conservative MP Ted Opitz's appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada to uphold his election victory from last May. Former Liberal MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj had lost in the Etobicoke Centre riding by 26 votes. Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and Rae spoke to reporters about the situation in Syria, where over 108 civilians were killed on the weekend.
