Interim Liberal Leader Bob Rae and NDP Ethics critic Charlie Angus spoke to reporters about the latest developments in the case against Dean Del Mastro. The parliamentary secretary to the Prime Minister is being investigated by Elections Canada for allegedly exceeding his campaign limit in the 2008 election.

NDP Immigration critic Jinny Sims commented on the Federal Court ruling that Ottawa must process all applications that it accepted under the Federal Skilled Workers’ Program. A decision to close applications made under the program before February 27, 2008, is included in the budget bill.

Conservative MP Joy Smith responded to questions about the alleged human trafficking case in Ottawa and on federal efforts to combat trafficking. Smith's private member's bill on the issue is currently being
considered by the Senate.

Bloc Québécois MP Jean-François Fortin discussed Quebec's opposition to the government's budget bill. MPs spent about 22 consecutive hours voting on opposition amendments to the omnibus bill
