Procureur général du Québec c. Sa Majesté la Reine du chef du Canada

Attorney General of Quebec v. Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada – October 14, 2010
Case #33524
This appeal deals with the federal government’s refusal to share costs for certain social assistance services in Quebec. The Attorney General of Quebec filed a court action for almost $395 million against the federal government in 1996. The federal government had refused to share costs for social services provided in schools and services for juvenile delinquents.
It also refused to contribute costs for support services for adults with disabilities living in a residential establishment.
