Her Majesty the Queen v. R.P.
Her Majesty the Queen v. R.P. (December 16, 2011) In 2008, R.P. was convicted of sexually assaulting his teenaged sister-in-law between 1974 and 1979. His sister-in-law was between the ages of 13 and 17 at the time of the assaults. On appeal, R.P. argued that the trial judge had made errors that led to an unreasonable verdict. The Crown is appealing a 2010 decision that substituted an acquittal for the guilty verdict.
