Supreme Court Hearings
Mounted Police Association of Ontario et al. v. Attorney General of Canada
Case # 34948 Mounted Police Association of Ontario, et al. v. Attorney General of Canada (February 18, 2014) Supreme Court hears arguments on whether officers of the RCMP can unionize. The RCMP is currently the only police force in Canada not permitted to unionize. At issue is whether preventing the formation of an independent collective bargaining labour association unjustifiably infringes on the Charter rights of RCMP members.
