The court hears arguments in case #27682, Willis Barclay Frederick Boston v. Shirley Isobel Boston, on January 17, 2001.
Willis Boston applied to reduce the amount of spousal support he was required to pay to his former wife, Shirley Boston, in 1998, claiming that both of their financial circumstances had changed. The motions judge accepted his application and lowered the amount of monthly support he was obligated to pay, but the Court of Appeal increased the amount of support owed. Mr. Boston is appealing that decision to the Supreme Court.
Lawyer J. Yvonne Pelley presents arguments on behalf of Mr. Boston, responding to a number of questions from the justices.
