Tête à tête
Thomas Mulcair (Part 1 of 2)
The Revue Politique “Tête à Tête” series delves into the lives of newsmakers, movers and shakers. In these in-depth and personal conversations, Pierre Donais sits down with guests to discuss their life experiences and to reveal what drives them today. In this episode, Pierre speaks with Thomas Mulcair, the New Democratic Party MP for the federal Quebec riding of Outremont. Mr. Mulcair first became a prominent political player as a Liberal MP in Jean Charest's Quebec government. Mr. Mulcair was appointed to various positions within the provincial cabinet, including environment minister. In 2007, he decided not to run again for office provincially. He tried his luck in the federal arena as a New Democrat. He was elected in a by-election in Outremont on September 17, 2007, and re-elected in the October 14, 2008 general election.
