When I lived and worked in Alberta in the 70s and 80s the hatred expressed openly and frequently towards Quebec specially and the Eastern Canada generaly was palpable. Now a couple of comments are taken out of context for political gain as per usual for this Harper bunch and the indignation is so manufactured it is laughable. Come on Albertans laugh at yourselves for once, and be bigger than to take the same sort of umbrage that Quebec took towards your hatred back then. We are Canadians and should be working together for a better country, not trying to destoy everything our forefathers and foremothers created, for the sake of a little bitumen that will soon be redundant

Couldn't agree with Jeremy More. Albertans love to bash anyone east of Flin Flon & especially Quebec and Ontario more so. A little heat your way & the lids blown off. This is ridiculous to say the least & Partisan to a fault. Where's Ontario's apology from Prime Minister Harper and Finance Minister Jim Flaherty for calling us Whiners when Equalization formula had to be amended. How about Minister John Baird telling Toronto to F/off. These are Cabinet Minister not parliamentary Critics. This is the Gov't who was elected to represent ALL Canadians. Re-Cap N/L Province of Defeatists, including Maritimes. QC bunch of Separatists, Ontarians are Whiners B.C bunch of Crazy Pot Smoking leftists financed by Foreign Special Interests. Only Manitoba,Saskatchewan & Alberta safe from Current Gov't's scorn. So BACK OFF Hypocrites Unless there's an APOLOGY We haven't seen. New Gov"t of Canada yeah Right.

It's no laughing matter. Albertans will NOT forget. In fact, before Quebec ever goes, the west will go first. We do have the money, we have paid off our national debit , we have a seaport and all resources. So, again to the East and especially Justin Trudeau: FREEZE IN THE DARK.

Well, Western Canada, Quebec has suckled at our resources and money long enough. Had enough? Cry babies. BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan together could be a VERY profitable country on it's own.

Well Deah, The four western provinces were built by my great aunts and uncles, my parents, myself and my sisters, and all my daughter's great and grandparents on her mothers side too. We live in Ontario now, moving to Quebec soon. This is one country, you cannot change the rules to suit your greed. What you call " your resources" belong to all Canadians, by tradition. A tilt toward provincial power took place in the "80s due to the work of Peter Lougheed, .....he never imagined the kind of greed you display and regrets the move now in some ways. It will swing back soon. The seven provinces east of Saskatchewan can vote to change resources to total federal ownership under the amending formula of the constitution, so maybe you should reconsider your smug sense superiority vis avis the fine people of Manitoba !
