In Committee from the Senate of Canada

Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources

Environment Minister Peter Kent discusses Bill S-15, which would amend the Canada National Parks Act to establish the Sable Island National Parks Reserve in Nova Scotia. The bill would also amend the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act. Senior Parks Canada officials Alan Latourelle and Kevin McNamee testify alongside the minister.

Gerard Julian from the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs and Twila Gaudet of the Mi'kmaq Rights Initiative outline their concerns with the bill during the second part of the meeting.

A hypothetical small amount of resources equally justifies both sides of the equation--because it is indeterminate. Why then is the position of Sen. Ringuette a rational policy? If there is a small amount then there exists the potential for a large amount. At least this is what pioneers maintain. Elderly and sick Canadians require the proper medical treatment they deserve when they need it the most. Why? Because they paid for with their sweat and blood.

Senator Ringuette fails to understand the logic of the policy. Does she understand the fact that thousands of Canadians die every year, especially in Quebec, because they do not receive the proper medical treatment they deserve when they need it the most? Obviously French-Canadian political and economic irrationalism is alive and well in the Senate.

Do the loved ones of Sen. Ringuette receive the proper medical treatment they deserve when they need it the most? No doubt. The political and economic irrationalism of the ruling class of French-Canada is the principle of deline in our civilisation. At least this is the verdict of the exact political and economic historiography of the Quebec Regime in Ottawa from 1968 until 2006. God bless the Prime Minister and Her Majesty Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada.
