how does the ministry determine if the claim of the refugee is legitimate or the claim of the country where the refugee is from is to be trusted?

Very interesting indeed when you consider what Harper and Fast are giving to the Chinese corporations through their China Canada Trade Investment deal due to come into effect momentarily without parliamentary discussion, without full Canadian public awareness and certainly without approval from either. When you allow another country access like this without courts and laws being envolved, only tribunals without any interest except profits, and by extention of NAFTA the USA will have the same rights, we are going to loose everything Canada has secretly without our knowledge to countries which covert what we have and they want. So why bother with such matters as cyber threats from either China or the USA when our sovereignty has just been given away? It makes no sense, but then treason is always interesting is it not?

Treason is interesting and so is the making of the Conservative federal party. I wonder if the millions of Canadian citizens who elected the Conservative federal party realize that they did not elect Progressive Conservatives. The existing Conservative government dissolved the federal Progressive Conservative party and then appear to have been elected on the Progressive Conservative electoral. The Conservative government is not the same as the Progressive Conservatives and is so far right the Conservative real policies conflict with democracy and lean more to autocracy. A book "Seeds of Fire: China and the Story behind the Attack on America" paints China as a frightening partner and a definitive non choice as a Canadian resource owner. I have mentioned before about Margaret Chan, from the World Health Organization, and the possible detrimental influence she and China have had in Canada over the last several years under Steven Harper and the Conservatives. Possible inappropriate medical behaviours require questioning and airing before China should be allowed to have a garage sale in Canada, not to mention own resources. Perhaps a legal question about the validity of the Conservative party, in light of the possible non disclosure to Canadian citizens, outlining the distinctive differences between the Progressive Conservative party and the Conservatives, might be a place to bring what is looking more like at self serving government back to a democratic behaving government or might spotlight electorial fraud. I as a Canadian citizen, and a real believer in democracy, have the right to inquire. Resources such as oil do not belong to the elected parliamentarians. Reducing the Canadian pension and then trying to sell resources that could bring every Canadian to an above adequate standard of living is audacious and irresponsible. The safety and welfare of Canadian citizens and the Canadian economy is at stake.

Joann your use of the word treason for the Conservative Party of Canada and the autocratic rule of Stephen Harper is not only idiotic and slanderous. For your edification, Mr Harper is the first Prime Minister of Canada that has stood up to China's human rights abuses to the falun gong, to the Dalai Lama and many more. In 2006 PMSH did not go to China because of theIr Human rights record and he was critized by the opposition for not continuing to expand the trade programs established by the Liberals which by the way did nothing to speak out against human rights abuses. The sale of Nexen, is a business decision made by the shareholders of Nexen ( a private corporation) the resources of Canada will remain the jurisdiction of the Provinces and CNOOC will still have to abide by the Laws (both environment and Labour ) of Canada and the Provinces. The Revenues will still be subject to Canadian and Provincial tax laws and royalties; this is a huge investment opportunity for Nexen and Canada which will create more jobs and therefore lower the unemployment rate. Your use of words such as treason, electoral fraud and autocrat government is disingenous; your socialist bias is showing thru.

Maybe the Canadian Government needs to focus on the rights and injustices happening in their own backyard instead of helping other countries with theirs. It's no wonder other countries around the world don't take places like the United States and Canada seriously, they're so busy trying to tell other countries how they should be treating their people and running their way of life when they can't even properly manage their own backyards. They want to cause damage and harm to our environment for the sake of the mighty dollar! Like was said in the video, the average person is more aware of the 3rd world countries living conditions over seas and unaware of very similar living conditions here in our country! Then because it's first nation reserves that are in poverty they say they do it to themselves so don't help them! But why deny our own country's people help and agree to help a country you owe nothing to?
