Joann your use of the word treason for the Conservative Party of Canada and the autocratic rule of Stephen Harper is not only idiotic and slanderous. For your edification, Mr Harper is the first Prime Minister of Canada that has stood up to China's human rights abuses to the falun gong, to the Dalai Lama and many more. In 2006 PMSH did not go to China because of theIr Human rights record and he was critized by the opposition for not continuing to expand the trade programs established by the Liberals which by the way did nothing to speak out against human rights abuses.
The sale of Nexen, is a business decision made by the shareholders of Nexen ( a private corporation) the resources of Canada will remain the jurisdiction of the Provinces and CNOOC will still have to abide by the Laws (both environment and Labour ) of Canada and the Provinces. The Revenues will still be subject to Canadian and Provincial tax laws and royalties; this is a huge investment opportunity for Nexen and Canada which will create more jobs and therefore lower the unemployment rate. Your use of words such as treason, electoral fraud and autocrat government is disingenous; your socialist bias is showing thru.
