CPAC Celebrates with Special Season

(Ottawa, September 12, 2012) – CPAC celebrates two decades as Canada’s signature political broadcaster with the launch of its new season on September 17th. Bringing you its signature mix of prime political coverage, historical documentaries and in-depth public policy analysis, CPAC is your destination channel for 24/7 politics.
“This season is the culmination of the 20 years of hard work and energy we’ve put into making CPAC Canadians’ source for unbiased and balanced political programming,” proudly announces Colette Watson, President and General Manager. “We mark our milestone with a renewed commitment to our viewers that delivers round-the-clock and on-the-go access to the people, processes and issues that shape national policy decisions.”

Highlights include:

  • Our Times - A new eight-part documentary series from award-winning journalist Holly Doan on the biggest themes of our era, from the ubiquity of technology and the sanction of gay marriage to our roller coaster economy and the emergence of terrorism.
  • PrimeTime Politics and Revue Politique – CPAC’s flagship political revues return on September 17th, bringing viewers long-form coverage and expert analysis of the day’s biggest developments.
  • La politique sur le terrain – In this new series, veteran CPAC personality Danielle Young ventures into key ridings for a look at the life and work of Canada’s MPs.
  • Question Period - For twenty years, CPAC has proudly provided Canadians with the daily Q & A that engineers our democracy. The tradition continues on September 17th, when MPs return to Ottawa for the Fall parliamentary session.
  • Rockburn Presents and Beyond PoliticsKen Rockburn and Catherine Clark return with more revealing one-on-ones, interviewing top cultural personalities and political figures of note.
  • C-SPAN – CPAC’s fruitful association with its American counterpart, C-SPAN, continues, giving Canadians unique access to major developments in the Obama-Romney race for the presidency.

PrimeTime Politics – Airs Monday through Friday at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT
Returning September 17th. CPAC’s flagship show with host Peter Van Dusen offers highlights of the latest political and public events, interviews with top political personalities, in-depth analysis, and more – followed by an unfiltered, long-form replay of the day’s top political developments. Martin Stringer hosts the Friday edition.

Scrums – Airs Monday through Friday at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT
The day’s scrums from the foyer of the House of Commons. See Canada’s Parliamentarians engage with the media on the latest political and public policy concerns.

Revue Politique – Airs Monday through Thursday at 7:30 pm ET / 10:30 pm PT
Back for its tenth season on September 17th, host Pierre Donais brings viewers an insider’s perspective on Ottawa, with interviews, panels, and complete coverage of the happenings on the Hill.

The Week with Mark Sutcliffe – Airs Sundays at 11 am ET / 8 am PT

British Prime Minister’s Question Time – Airs Sundays at 3:30 pm ET / 12:30 pm PT
CPAC takes viewers across the pond for a trip to the British Parliament, where the Prime Minister thrusts and parries with the other parties on issues of concern to the Commonwealth.
