(Ottawa, March 1, 2012) – Join CPAC Friday evening for a special look at the upcoming by-election in Toronto-Danforth, the riding previously held by Jack Layton. In last May’s election, the late NDP leader won the riding with more than 60% of the vote, winning every poll in the riding. Since its creation in the 1970s, Toronto-Danforth has been both a Liberal and NDP stronghold. This is the first time the NDP goes into an election as the Official Opposition in Ottawa and the first time the Liberals make their pitch to voters as the third party in Parliament.
Host Martin Stringer goes on-the-ground to speak with candidates Craig Scott of the NDP, Liberal Grant Gordon, Conservative Andrew Keyes and the Green’s Adrianna Mugnatto-Hamu. See what voters think about immigration, old age security, the economy and the Harper government’s track record leading up to the riding’s March 19th vote.
